PRIVACY POLICY

App: Lịch Việt (Vạn Niên) Package Name / Application ID: com.lichviet.vannienntt Effective date: 07/09/2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to Lịch Việt (Vạn Niên). We respect and are committed to protecting your privacy to the fullest extent. This Privacy Policy clearly explains how the app works, the device permissions it requests, and our commitment to safeguarding user information.

By installing and using Lịch Việt, you agree to the terms of this policy.

2. Collection and Use of Personal Data

  • No collection of personally identifiable data: The app does not require account creation or sign-in, and does not collect any personally identifiable information (such as your name, email, phone number, contacts, photos, or stored documents).
  • No user behavior tracking: We do not embed any behavioral analytics SDKs, do not use advertising IDs, and do not track user habits.
  • Local horoscope & calendar processing: Any date of birth or selections you enter in the Horoscope, Feng Shui, or Ba Zhai sections are computed temporarily in the device's RAM (in-memory) to display results, and are never recorded or sent over the network.

3. Device Permissions

The app only requests the minimum technical permissions required to operate its basic features:

  1. INTERNET

    • Purpose: Network access to download weather forecast and air quality (AQI) data.
    • Commitment: Only sends queries for the province/city coordinates you manually select; no personal or device information is sent.

  2. ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE

    • Purpose: Check the device's network connectivity.
    • Commitment: Used to switch to a safe offline forecast fallback when the network is unavailable.

  3. POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+)

    • Purpose: Display reminder notifications at 07:00 AM.
    • Commitment: Only reminds you of New Moon days (the 1st), Full Moon days (the 15th), and Tet holidays. You can enable or disable these at any time.

Note on Location permission: The app does not use and does not request GPS location permission (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION or ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION). Weather forecast coordinates are the predefined nominal coordinates of 64 Vietnamese provinces/cities that you manually select from a list.

4. Local Storage

The app uses Android's standard SharedPreferences to store some local convenience settings directly on your device:

  • The most recently selected province/city for weather display.
  • On/off preferences for New Moon, Full Moon, and Tet holiday reminders.

These settings reside entirely within the app's secure partition on your device and are automatically wiped when you clear the app's data or uninstall the app.

5. Third-Party Services

The app only connects to a public open-source weather API:

  • Open-Meteo Weather & Air Quality API (https://open-meteo.com): Used to fetch temperature, weather, and AQI data. This service requires no personal API key, does not track IPs or users, and complies with international privacy regulations (GDPR).
  • The app does not integrate any third-party ad networks (such as AdMob, Unity, AppLovin, Facebook, etc.).

6. Children's Privacy

The app is friendly and safe for users of all ages, including children. We strictly comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and do not collect any data from children under 13.

7. Policy Changes

We may update this policy when new features are added or to comply with new Google Play requirements. All updates will be posted here with their effective date.
